Abraham comes in quiet, but kills those WODS. Nice work setting so many PRs lately.
I am originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, but Utah has been my home for the last 3 years.

I’m originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but Utah has been home for almost 4 years.
I started CrossFit in January of 2018 and fell in love with it. I’ve always been very active, but CrossFit is different, so challenging and so fun at the same time. Crossfit has helped me get stronger than I ever thought I could be. I feel constantly challenged to improve both physically and mentally.
Moving to a new country can be hard sometimes, but I found an awesome community at Crossfit Draper, and made so many friends that I’m so grateful for.
Thanks CFD Family for being so welcoming and supportive since my day 1!
Sasa origin story:
You can thank coach Braedon for this. When writing her name on the board, his “R” looked like an “S” and Sasa was born. It stuck since we have a few other Sara’s in the gym.
I am originally from Ukraine but call US my home now. Sara and I have been married 11 years and have three crazy boys: 8, 5 and 2. Pretty boring person: family, work, CrossFit (7 years total, 1.5 at CFD).
Occupation: kids say I play on my computer every day, neighbors think I sell drugs, Sara tries to explain what I do and sometimes kinda succeeds, but really I am self employed doing IT consulting for bigger sized companies.
My passions, loves and happy energy comes from my family, mountains, friends, ocean, faith, sun, food, anything dark chocolate and fitness.
On the fitness level, I grew up in a very competitive family, cheered in college, coached cheer, taught group and strength fitness, went to the gym…yada yada.
When I had my last baby in 2008, I wanted to push myself and try new things that made me uncomfortable mentally and physically so I started to do Marathons, Triathlons, Ragnar’s and Century Bike races. After years of it, I needed a new push.
In 2019 my husband suggested I try CrossFit, which I didn’t know anything about. 2 years later, my only regret is NOT FINDING IT SOONER! I have learned and grown not only on the fitness level by amazing coaches but have gained my favorite lifetime friendships here at CFD!
I really don’t know what my PB’s are but these are the things I couldn’t do 2 years ago…
1- hold a PVC pipe above my head and squat.
2- double unders
3- Kipping/butterfly pull-ups
4- rope climbs
5- cleans/snatches
6- bar/ring muscle ups
7- also got rid of my “pussy pad” when I back squat.
I think it’s pretty sweet to be able to do some fun hard CrossFit competitions now and be in the age group quarterfinals this year at 41!
“I started Crossfit in May of 2018. Crossfit has helped me get stronger than I have ever been. I’ve really enjoyed learning new lifts, gymnastics movements, and ways to challenge myself. The added fitness helps with me at work and when I’m out having fun.”
“I am from San Antonio Texas and I started going to CrossFit Draper in 2015. Utilizing CrossFit as my main training modality has made me stronger and more fit than I ever thought I would be.
However, that isn’t what has driven me to stay for so long. I love coming to the gym and working out with other people, who over time have become my friends. CrossFit communities are tight knit and I love it. My favorite type of workout is anything with a heavier barbell!”
“I’ve been Crossfitting for 10+ years. I heard whispers about CF so I decided to try it out. My first workout didn’t immediately impress me. I had a standard gym membership prior to trying CFD. The day after my first workout, I had sore muscles that weren’t used to being sore and the workout was only 10 minutes long. So I knew my body was benefiting. Fast forward and here I am 10 years later, stronger and fitter at 44 y.o. than I ever was before CF.”
“I’m from Dallas, Texas. I got married in November 2019 and moved to Utah. Moving away from my family and to a new state was really hard on me. A year ago I walked into this CrossFit gym just wanting to get a good workout in. What I have received within this last year has been more then I could imagine. I found a sport that challenges me physically and emotionally. I found a community that makes sure I am motivating myself and others to be better. The most impactful thing I have learned is that You get out what you put into it. Thank you to everyone who has really made me feel like party of the CrossFit Draper Family!”
